Kodály Summer School 2018

This will be our 7th Annual Summer School open to all primary and secondary school music teachers, singing and instrumental tutors and anyone interested in music education. Our established team of internationally renowned presenters, László Nemes (Liszt Academy, Hungary), James Cuskelly (Sound Thinking, Australia) and Lucinda Geoghegan (NYCoS and RCS, Scotland) will be joined again by our Colourstring Music colleagues and other leaders.

This will be the third year that Colourstrings Music methodology courses are included and we are delighted that Professor Géza Szilvay is returning to deliver Colourstrings Violin Teacher Training. Early Years Music will be covered by Colourstrings Music Kindergarten Teacher training courses delivered by Yvonne Wyroslawska, Naheed Cruickshank and Zelda Martin.

We welcome Monica Wilkinson, musician and Dalcroze teacher, Andrew Nunn, conductor and winner of the BBC Choir of the Year 2012 and Lynne Clark, former leader of Music Development for NE Derbyshire. Renowned singer and teacher Wilma MacDougall will also be offering individual singing lessons - a very popular choice last year.

Optional, fun and inspiring evening sessions will round off the days. We have also secured the talents of BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2018, Hannah Rarity for a concert open to the public on 31st July.
