Join Oxford Pro Musica Singers for a performance of Mozart's sublime Requiem, a piece composed right at the end of his life – and still unfinished at the point of his death. It is one of the best-known pieces in the classical music repertoire, and has been used in dozens of films, including Eyes Wide Shut, Under Suspicion, The Big Lebowski, X-Men 2 and, of course, Amadeus. We will be joined by Oxford Sinfonia and soloists from the Royal Academy of Music, and all in one of Oxford's best-loved venues: the Sheldonian Theatre.
The programme is completed with Haydn's famous Insanae et Vanae Curae and Astorga's Stabat Mater, a setting that deserves more recognition after falling into obsurity in the 20th Century.
