This is a rare opportunity to participate in a choral workshop exploring selected choruses from Bach's masterpiece Mass in B Minor with Richard Pearce [conductor] and Jakob Rothoff [piano]. This work represents the pinnacle of choral writing in the Baroque style, so it will be a challenging sing, but musically satisfying and great fun. The Waverley Singers look forward to welcoming singers from the surrounding area to what promises to be an unforgettable event.
Advance booking is strongly recommended - and also cheaper than booking on the day! Registration opens at 10am at South Farnham School, Menin Way, Farnham GU9 8DY [a short walk from Farnham station; trains run from Waterloo every half hour. Plenty of free parking is also available at the school and on street]. Please bring a packed lunch. Hot drinks and cakes will be available. We will be using the Barenreiter edition for the workshop.
The Waverley Singers are offering the opportunity of a temporary membership for the Spring term 2020 for those who would like to join us and sing in our concert on 21st March at St Andrew's Garrison Church, Aldershot GU11 2BY. We will be joined by professional soloists and accompanied by the Brandenburg Baroque Soloists to sing the entire Mass. Audience members are of course also very welcome!
