Come & Sing! Verdi: Requiem - one-day choral workshop - hosted by Worcester Festival Choral Society

Join Worcester Festival Choral Society and friends for an exhilarating 'Come & Sing' Verdi’s Requiem one-day choral workshop in Worcester's historic College Hall, conducted by Piers Maxim. A chance to learn and enjoy a true choral classic.

Possibly the most dramatic and memorable piece the composer ever wrote, Verdi’s Requiem – featuring choruses such as Dies Irae (Day of Wrath) – is a musical ‘blockbuster’ that sends shivers down the spine, and is staggeringly beautiful too.

Under the baton of esteemed choral conductor, organist, composer and music teacher Piers Maxim you’ll be joining around 100 singers of all kinds, to either experience this choral classic for the first time, or to brush up on a favourite choral gem!

You don't have to have choral experience, but some ability to read music will enable you to get the most from the day. The ticket price includes a music score, and free tea and coffee. You can also pre-order one of our delicious, home-made packed lunches or eat at one of Worcester's many eateries nearby.

The venue is Grade I listed College Hall*, overlooking College Green behind Worcester Cathedral and within a moment's walk of the lovely City centre. Registration will be from 9:30am, with singing starting from 10.15am. The day concludes at around 5pm after an informal performance (which family and friends can attend free of charge) at the same venue.

Participation is by pre-booked ticket (£20 adults / £10 full time students, under-18s must be accompanied by an adult). Book online or download a postable booking form from www.worcesterfestivalchoralsociety.org.uk

* Please note that access to College Hall is via steps only - no ramps or lifts can be provided for wheelchair users due to the limitations of the Grade 1, Scheduled Monument building. Apologies that there is therefore no wheelchair access without your own carer assistance.
