Thurrock Golden Voices

Thurrock Voices is an over 40s Community Choir, and came from an idea raised at the 2007 Thurrock Older People's Conference. In October 2008, with 2 year funding from the Arts Council and support from Thurrock CVS, the first members came together to form the new choir. At the end of the 2 year project, membership had grown and those involved wished to continue and therefore Thurrock Golden Voices became a fully constituted and independent group in 2010.

We aim to show older people in a positive light and we sing a range of songs that you wouldn’t necessarily expect the over 50s to be singing, as well as the occasional 'old favourite'!

Membership of the choir is open to all Thurrock residents over 50 years old, there are no auditions and we welcome people who have never sung before. We ensure that our rehearsal room and performance venues are fully accessible for all members, especially those with disabilities, and performances are adapted to the needs of the members.
