Have your say – join the Making Music Council

Would you like to contribute to the development of policies and services at Making Music? Then consider joining the Making Music Council.

Meeting once a year, the Making Music Council is a forum for discussion and consultation between members, Board and staff. It acts as a valuable advisory group for the development of policies and services at Making Music, and is a mechanism for staff and Board to keep in touch with the wants and needs of the members.

The Council has a named core of people, selected by the Board to represent a cross-section of our membership profile. However, anyone from any member group can attend the Council meeting and contribute to the discussion.

Named core members of the Council may also be consulted individually between meetings, if an issue arises that demands their particular area of expertise.

Members are invited to put themselves for the Council on an annual basis, using the application form below. Presently we are particularly looking for representatives from the following types of group:

  • Choral society

  • Opera
  • Chamber orchestra
  • String orchestra
  • Wind, brass, concert or marching band
  • Youth orchestra
