BOLTON CHAMBER CHOIR SEEKING MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Bolton Chamber Choir was founded in 1961. The group sings a wide and challenging repertoire of music, ranging from the sixteenth century to the present day, some of which is sung a capella. A high standard of musicianship and commitment is demanded of the members, of whom there are currently 16. The choir performs three or more concerts per year, usually locally. The choir is keen to encourage and include local musicians, and often includes a guest soloist in its concert programmes.
We are seeking a Musical Director with experience of choirs singing a capella, ideally a singer, and who would be able to take the choir forward, building on the progress made with our current MD. We do not have a regular accompanist, so the MD must be able to rehearse the choir from the piano. The new director is needed from early September, and applications should be submitted by 31 March.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, 7.30 to 9.45 in Bolton
