Entries are now open for groups to nominate themselves for an Epic Award - recognising the skill, innovation and hard work that goes into their activities, and providing an opportunity to increase their profile and win prizes.
What are the Epic Awards?
The Epic Awards were set up in 2010 by Voluntary Arts, an organisation that works across the UK and Republic of Ireland to promote participation in creative cultural activities. Each year, voluntary arts groups in the UK and Republic of Ireland are invited to nominate themselves for an award for activities that took place in the previous 12 months. Past winners include Making Music members Pandemonium Drummers and Harps North West.
What makes a winning entry?
The awards are given to groups who show how engaging, collaborative, innovative or creative voluntary arts activities can be. This might be through partnerships, projects that reach out to local communities, activities that boost participation or engagement, or innovative uses of technology. If you are proud of what your group has achieved this year, we encourage you to enter!
What are the benefits?
Stand out from the crowd - Whether you’re trying to get coverage in your local paper, or shine in a funding application, saying you’ve been shortlisted for – or have won – an Epic Award will let everyone know you’ve got something special to offer.
Win prizes – winners get £250, a framed certificate and a tailored package of training, mentoring and promotion from Voluntary Arts and Epic Award partners; runners-up get £75, a framed certificate and mentoring from Voluntary Arts and Epic Award partners.
