Tŷ Cerdd Studios is a professional recording facility based in the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff. It also offers location recording and pre/post production services. Clients include the BBC, Bryn Terfel, Only Boys Aloud, Only Men Aloud, Caius College Choir, David Childs, Wynne Evans, British Sinfonia, Ivan Ilić, Welsh National Opera and London Welsh Chorale.
Making Music and Tŷ Cerdd members are entitled to discounted rates on all of their services.
All genres of music can be accommodated, from string quartets to rock bands. There is a large ‘live room’ (36’ by 24’) with a Bősendorfer grand piano perfect for chamber and solo recital recordings. If needed, session musicians can also be organised. All equipment is state-of-the-art and professional production skills are on hand.
Discounted rate: £45 per hour £330 per day
Mobile (Location) Recording
Tŷ Cerdd engineers can travel to record your performance or rehearsal using our high specification mobile equipment. Recordings will be edited, mixed and mastered back in the studios in Cardiff. If you do not have access to a suitable recording venue Tŷ Cerdd can arrange for you to use the Welsh National Opera rehearsal rooms (Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff) which are perfect for larger ensembles.
Discounted rate: £50 per hour £350 per day
Please note: expenses, e.g. travel and accommodation, would be in addition to the hourly rate.
Tŷ Cerdd can help plan and organise your project offering both creative and technical advice. We can help with music arrangements, composition and sound design. We also offer a full post-production service that includes; mixing, mastering, audio editing, MCPS application.
Discounted rate: £35 per hour £245 per day
Tŷ Cerdd also offers eight hours recording, four hours post-production, MCPS application to Making Music members.
