St Martin's Chamber Music Competition

The Chamber Music Competition, run in association with Making Music, awards an outstanding young ensemble with performance opportunities.

The competition embodies St Martin’s commitment to the discovery, nurture and promotion of new and emerging musical talent and continues a long history of musical excellence and artistic contribution at the heart of London.

With the support of Making Music, the competition is able to offer winners the opportunity to establish and develop a performance profile throughout the UK. Through our collaboration, Making Music member groups can book the winning ensemble for an exclusive fee under our discounted artist scheme.

2015 winner: Jørgensen Trio

The Jørgensen Trio is a vibrant, young, award-winning piano trio formed in 2012. Olga Jørgensen, Antonia Kesel and Cecilia Bignall are currently in their final year at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Hamish Milne, Jack Liebeck and Robert Cohen respectively. In 2013, they were awarded the Jacob Barnes Scholarship, and performed a prize-winner’s recital at the Academy’s Piano festival.

In June 2014, they were awarded the Harry Isaacs Piano Trio prize, adjudicated by Amadine Savary. These prizes have allowed the trio the opportunity to develop an exciting concert series featuring music from across in the world and they look forward to performing with some of our members to expand their series further.
