Here’s an opportunity to get involved with a national event – and recruit some helping hands for your group at the same time!
The Big Help Out is back for its second year on June 7th - 9th, helping to drive volunteers to organisations and groups across the UK. Could this be the perfect opportunity to recruit new volunteers and expand your music group's reach into the local community?
Whether you need a social media person, a new trustee, or some other kind of volunteer – don’t just look to the members of your music group: there could be many volunteers passionate about your music and your group in your community and who could help out.
So, post an opportunity on the Big Help Out platform and let any potential volunteers experience their first day of volunteering with you during the Big Help Out weekend.
Perhaps you already have a ‘Come and Sing’ event that weekend? Invite them to that to help. Or you have a committee meeting or a fundraising event or coffee morning?
You can also ask them to come to your regular rehearsal during the week – whilst the focus will be on the weekend of 7th-9th June, you can also register events leading up to that weekend.

- Create a volunteering opportunity and taster volunteer session for June 7th-9th
- Upload that opportunity onto The Big Help Out Platform
- Post with The Big Help Out: They’ve included all social copy, drafted newsletter copy and a suite of social assets in their Partner Pack. Don’t forget to use the hashtag: #TheBigHelpOut – so they can connect with your posts.
