In celebration of 100 years of choral singing in Chesterfield, a programme has been specially chosen to acknowledge this milestone.
The Chesterfield Philharmonic Choir will perform Edward Elgar's “The Music Makers” and “Coronation Ode” (the one with Land of Hope and Glory) at 7.30pm on 6 April in the famous Crooked Spire church, where they are Choir in Residence. We hope you will join us for this auspicious event.
We are delighted to welcome Jonathan Scott (the choir’s Vice President) as organ accompanist. Jonathan will also play his arrangements of 'Nimrod' from the Enigma Variations and Pomp and Circumstance March no.4 in G Major OP.39.
The soloists are Juliet Montgomery (soprano), Sarah Winn (alto), Samuel Knock (tenor), Samuel Snowden (bass). The choir’s Musical Director, Steven Roberts, will be conducting.
