Come & Sing 'The Armed Man'

Southrepps Chorale, North Norfolk invites you to Come & Sing: Karl Jenkins ‘The Armed Man’ with us on Saturday, 6 May 2017.

The day will be led by guest director, Malcolm Goldring. Malcolm is Conductor of the Sitwell Singers (Derby), and Musical Director of the Midland Festival Chorus. He has made something of a speciality of ‘The Armed Man’, including performances in Nottingham, Guernsey, Worcester Cathedral, and, in 2014, in London’s Royal Albert Hall to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, when a choir of 700 was joined by the Philharmonia Orchestra. So we shall be in definitive and experienced hands!

Getting here:
Southrepps is a village three miles inland from the popular seaside resort of Cromer. It lies 22 miles north of Norwich, 25 miles east of Fakenham or 30 miles west of Great Yarmouth. The singing day takes place in our beautiful 600 year old St. James Church with its modern kitchen, toilets and disabled access.

Gunton station: 1 mile.

10.15 Welcome
10.20 Warm-up and into Session 1
12.15 Break for lunch (participants to bring lunch, or visit The Vernon Arms)
1.30 Session 2
3.15 Break for tea. Tea/coffee/biscuits
4.00 ‘Performance’
5.00 Depart

Fee:
The registration fee for the day is £12 and is free for students (21 and under) thanks to a Community Chest Award from the EDP. The fee includes your music and complimentary tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits.

Lunch:
Please bring a picnic lunch to eat in the churchyard or in our modern church rooms.
Alternatively our popular local hostelry The Vernon Arms will be offering a quick-serve singers’ sandwich lunch accompanied by its impressive range of wines and beers.
