New Egham Singers Christmas Concert in aid of Chertsey & Addlestone Good Neighbours

Local community choir, New Egham Singers (NES) are holding their annual Christmas Concert on Saturday 9th December at St John’s Church in Egham. This incredibly popular local event brings the joy of Christmas to the heart of Egham with wonderful, uplifting music at this special time of year.

The event will start at 7.30pm and NES will perform a variety of music including well-known Christmas classics We Three Kings and Good King Wenceslas along with some much-loved popular songs such as Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and Put a Little Love in Your Heart. Seasonal refreshments will be available in the interval and the evening will conclude with popular carols for everyone to sing.

NES have been supporting Chertsey & Addlestone Good Neighbours in 2023. This will be the last concert to raise funds for this special charity, which brings together an amazing group of volunteers who provide practical neighbourly support to members of the local community in need, from driving them to medical appointments to simply dropping in for a chat and a cup of tea.

Founded in 2009, NES, which incorporates Progeny Chamber Choir, has become a familiar part of the life of the local area. NES, led by Musical Director (MD) Dr Guy Bunce, welcomes singers of different backgrounds, ages and musical abilities and get together at fun weekly rehearsals to sing a wide variety of songs. Whilst Progeny, overseen by MD Patrick Martin, tackles slightly more challenging music. Through its many performances, the choir has raised thousands of pounds for a variety of local charities.
