The Emily Askew Band: Alchemy
Hailed by The Times as "one of the albums of the year", Alchemy fuses medieval and renaissance songs with modern folk styles. The programme spans music from the 13th to 17th centuries, including bransies from France, early dances from England, Spanish villancicos and troubadour songs from France.
Singer/guitarist/fiddler Jamie Roberts, fiddler/viola d'amore player John Dipper and percussionist Simon Whittaker join Emily Askew on vielle, shawm, bagpipes, recorders and medieval harp. Emily has performed with The Dufay Collective, and Joglaresa as well as The Askew Sisters of course.
