An Evening at the Opera

Exeter Philharmonic Choir

Prepare to be transported to the opera houses of Europe for a sparkling evening of arias, duets and choruses. Enjoy the heightened emotions of Monteverdi’s Orfeo, Purcell’s Dido, Mozart’s Countess Almaviva and Puccini’s Rodolfo, as well as Beethoven’s Prisoners, Bizet’s Toreadors, Wagner’s Pilgrims, Verdi’s Matadors – and more.

Joining the choir will be two rising stars of the professional opera world, soprano Camilla Harris and tenor Rhys Batt, who already have strong associations with Garsington Opera and English National Opera. The evening will provide a feast of wonderful music spanning four centuries, all accompanied on two pianos by Stephen Tanner and Andrew Downton, both well-known Exeter musicians.
