Festive Concert

Glass Ensemble presents a festive programme of repertoire for upper voices and harp, alongside traditional carols, next month at Queen Anne's School in Caversham. Join us on Sunday 10th December for a cosy afternoon concert, featuring Benjamin Britten's well-loved masterpiece 'A Ceremony of Carols' as its centrepiece. Acclaimed harpist Valeria Kurbatova will be joining the choir both for the Britten and for Gustav Holst's 'Hymns from the Rig Veda', a set of pieces composed to ancient Indian hymns, translated from Sanskrit into English by Holst himself. Alongside both pieces expect to hear traditional carols with a twist, in what should be a lovely afternoon of songs new and old. Seasonal refreshments are included in your ticket price.
