The Gluepot Connection - CD launch concert

Londinium (chamber choir) | Andrew Griffiths (conductor)

This celebratory concert marks the launch of Londinium's debut recording 'The Gluepot Connection' - a mouthwatering selection of British choral music by composers who frequented 'The George' pub in Great Portland Street in the first half of the twentieth century, released on the SOMM label. Our programme will include highlights from the disc, including Arnold Bax's stupendous Mater ora filium and works by Alan Bush, John Ireland, Elisabeth Lutyens, EJ Moeran, Alan Rawsthorne and Peter Warlock. Alongside this glorious repertoire we perform an underrated masterpiece: Kenneth Leighton's Mass for Double Choir, op.44. Copies of the disc, which includes several première recordings, will be available to purchase.
