Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem

Petros Singers

Johannes Brahms was a great musical historian, collecting and editing music by many of his famous predecessors. In this concert, his monumental Ein Deutsches Requiem is preceded by a series of motets and songs by composers known to Brahms, which illuminated his influences in the composition of this masterful work. The programme includes music by Heinrich Schutz, J S Bach, Fanny Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann.
