A Little Light Music

This concert illuminates the variety of ways ‘light’ has proved a constant source of inspiration to composers and poets across the centuries, whether it be sunlight, moonlight, starlight or a flicker at the end of a tunnel. Featuring choruses from Elgar’s oratorio, The Light of Life, alongside music by Rachmaninoff, Amy Beach, John Rutter, Duke Ellington,  The Beatles and more.

Petros Singers is a well-regarded, auditioned chamber choir with a reputation for high-quality singing and innovative programmes. We perform a wide-ranging and diverse repertoire and collaborate with top-class orchestras and soloists in West and Central London.

Richard Bannan, our musical director, is a baritone, conductor and teacher. Richard sings with many of the country's leading vocal ensembles, including the Choir of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, where he is a lay clerk.

Andrew Wells will be accompanying us and performing solo organ works. Andrew has been Petros Singers’ rehearsal pianist since 1987. He graduated from the London College of Music and also studied at Trinity College London. He plays for several choirs and has frequently been rehearsal pianist for the BBC Singers and Symphony Chorus.
