Steven Devine and Kate Semmens: O Tuneful Voice

This programme explores the musical scene in Vienna and London in the late 1700s, when the fortepiano was becoming the instrument of choice for composers such as Haydn and Mozart. Steven plays a copy of a fortepiano built in 1785, to create an intimate sound world perfect for the featured chamber pieces from these two masters.

Harpsichordist Steven Devine delighted TEMS playing Bach's Goldberg Variations.in 2012. Soprano Kate Semmens has sung with eminent groups including the Monteverdi Choir, Gabrieli Consort, Dunedin Consort, and Taverner Consort. They have both recently been tutors at the Dartington International Summer School.
