J.S.Bach: St John Passion

A thrilling choral feast is coming to Worcester Cathedral this spring, with a major performance of J.S.Bach’s renowned masterpiece, St John Passion.

Featuring the 150 voices of Worcester Festival Choral Society, the superb Meridian Sinfonia orchestra and six acclaimed soloists, Bach’s stirring, exultant and profoundly moving setting of the Passion according to St John will be complemented by the magnificent surroundings of Worcester Cathedral.

The concert soloists will be Nicholas Mulroy (tenor / Evangelist), James Newby (bass-baritone / Christus), John Savournin (bass-baritone / Pilatus), Angela Hicks (soprano), Sarah Denbee (mezzo soprano) and Alessandro Fisher (tenor). Worcester Cathedral’s director of music Samuel Hudson conducts, in what promises to be a memorable musical evening.
