The Goldsmiths' Company is one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London with roots in the trade guilds of the Middle ages. 

The majority of the Company's grant-making falls into the following main categories:

  • Education.
  • General Charity. This is the largest area of grant-making.

Small Grants: culture; general welfare; medical welfare and disability.

The Charity supports general charitable projects, ranging from the disadvantaged in society and general welfare to the arts.  Due to the wide range of areas funded, potential applicants are advised to contact the Charity to ensure that proposed projects meet the eligibility criteria. Appeals for specific projects are preferred, but requests for core funding will be considered.

Large Grants: priority will be given to: youth schemes (leaving care, young carers, mental health issues, homelessness); rehabilitation or resettlement of prisoners (education, arts and music, families of prisoners); ageing population (isolation and loneliness).
