Ashira Singers

We are an inclusive community choir with approximately 60 members from all walks of life and ages. We do not ask new members to audition and it isn't essential that they can read music. The repertoire is wide and varied, from secular to sacred, gospel, songs from the shows, popular and traditional songs, mostly 2/3- part harmony.
We give performances to our friends and families, usually two a year and we like to donate any proceeds that are generated from donations for the refreshments, by our guests, to a local charity.

Ashira Singers are delighted to announce that our Musical Director and Conductor, Vilma Weaver, was awarded the Lady Hilary Groves Prize 2020 by Dorothy Wilson, Chair of Making Music at the virtual AGM on 8th September. This prestigious prize is presented annually to an individual from a Making Music member group who has had a significant impact on their group's success or made an outstanding contribution to community music.
