Choral Music of the Americas

Ayr Choral Union

Ayr Choral's first concert of the 2017-18 season celebrates " music of the Americas", including Michael Tippett's Spirituals from A Child of OurTime, Mexican  Baroque music from De Padilla, as well as music from American composers Copland, Thompson, Lauridsen, and Whitacre.  Our guest Whitaker Mills, (Baritone) will sing some more  Copland and Gershwin. 

With accompanist Ed Cohen, and the choir conducted by Gerard Doherty,  and a wide and contrasting range of choral music with American connections, this will be a concert with something for everyone!
