Bristol Concert Orchestra: Bruckner Symphony 9; Poulenc Organ Concerto

Bristol Concert Orchestra

Bristol Concert Orchestra, Stefan Hofkes (conductor)

Saturday 24 June 2017, 7.30pm
St Mary Redcliffe Church, Bristol

Bach/Elgar: Fantasia & Fugue in C minor
Vaughan Williams: Toward the Unknown Region
Poulenc: Concerto for Organ, Timpani and Strings, with Andrew Kirk
Bruckner: Symphony No.9

What better venue for a performance of Bruckner’s final ‘cathedral in sound’ than the remarkable church of St Mary Redcliffe (“the fairest, goodliest, and most famous parish church in England” – Queen Elizabeth I)? Add the magnificent 71-stop, 4,327-pipe Harrison and Harrison organ for a performance of Poulenc’s Organ Concerto, plus a magnificent choral work by Vaughan Williams and this makes for a concert not to be missed!

There will be a retiring collection for Hope’s Place Bristol.

Tickets £15, £12, £10 (concessions £2 discount), children £1 [+fee] are available online at www.bristolconcertorchestra.org.uk
