The Armed Man
Canbury Singers
The main part of the concert is a performance of The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins. This work was commissioned by the Royal Armouries Museum in the year 2000, and is a powerful plea for peace while recounting the horrors of war. The date of the concert, 10th November, is on the eve of the Armistice that concluded the First World War exactly 100 years ago. It will be performed by The Canbury Singers, with orchestra and soloists. The other part of the concert will be given by the South West London Military Wives and the choir of Coombe Girls School, each singing songs of remembrance, one of them jointly. This will be a fitting concert for the particular day. St.Luke’s Church, Gibbon Road, Kingston-upon-Thames Starts at 7.30 pm Doors open 7.0 pm Licenced Bar in interval and afterwards.
