Chorleywood Choral Society

We are a large group of committed and enthusiastic singers of all ages and backgrounds, united by our love of music in general and choral singing in particular. Visit https://chorleywoodchoral.co.uk

We welcome anyone who loves singing from all voice groups – no auditions necessary. We perform a wide-ranging repertoire in local, national and overseas venues. Regular fixtures include local concerts at Christmas and the early summer and a five-day tour, usually abroad, in August, when we team up with neighbouring Berkhamsted Choral Society. We also perform by invitation at local festivals and other events.

In 2020 the pandemic forced us to abandon plans for a Mozart Requiem and a summer tour to Cologne. But we "pivoted" and became a Zoom Choir, recording three original pieces by Chris Williams, rejoining for F2F rehearsal just in time to be told to lock down again (!) and in August 2021 we are intent on singing in three cathedrals of East Anglia. Touring Members always welcome.

We enjoy a range of social events, including supper recitals, quizzes and parties, some of which help to raise funds for the Society. We also organise occasional “bring and sing” performances of such popular classics as Handel’s Messiah, sometimes in partnership with Berkhamsted Choral Society.

We come from Chorleywood and many surrounding towns and villages, including Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Chesham, Amersham, the Chalfonts, Rickmansworth, Watford, Bushey and the Langleys.

We (normally) meet every Monday evening from 8pm to 10pm at the Free Church, Hillside Road, Chorleywood, WD3 5AP within easy walking distance of Chorleywood Station (Metropolitan Line and Chiltern Railways). Otherwise join us for our Zoom rehearsals every Monday - contact us for a link.
