A Fancy of Folksongs

Cockermouth Harmonic Society

As the days lengthen and signs of spring emerge, Cockermouth Harmonics present a concert of folksongs to celebrate the natural world and a few of its inhabitants.   

Some of the songs are well-known, others are less familiar.  All the songs are arranged by twentieth century British composers to revel in their humour or the sounds of their rural settings.  We will be enjoying the music of John Rutter, Bob Chilcott and Cecilia McDowall among others.

Ian Wright will conduct the choir, which will be accompanied on the piano by Amanda Wright.

The concert will take place at Christ Church, Cockermouth at 7.30pm on Saturday 4 February 2023.
