40 years of singing

Congresbury Singers

On Saturday 24 June Congresbury Singers will be celebrating 40 years of singing in Congresbury with a concert in St Andrews Church reprising favourites from those 40 years. Our recent programmes have tended to be based on a theme. This concert will include serious items by Mozart (‘Ave verum corpus’), Bach and Handel (‘Zadok the Priest’), with the odd bit of pastiche thrown in (e.g. ‘Bach goes to Town’ and the north country ‘Messiah’). There will be spirituals, Gilbert & Sullivan and Offenbach, together with some solos and duets, all showing the great variety of music that the choir has performed over the last forty years. Once again the evening will be directed by Gordon Pullin, and should prove to be an entertaining, uplifting and enjoyable evening. The concert will be held at 7.30pm in St Andrews Church, Congresbury and light refreshments will be available in the Old School Rooms afterwards. Tickets (£8.00) can be obtained from the village Post Office, or simply pay on the door.
