Croydon Bach Choir - Open Rehearsal for Prospective Members

Do you live in or around the Croydon area and are looking for a choir to join in 2017? Then look no further than the Croydon Bach Choir!  Come along at 8.00 pm on Wednesday 11 January to St Matthew's Church in Chichester Road for our open rehearsal and see if you like us. We do not hold auditions, but you are accepted for your first term on a trial basis. Previous choral singing is an advantage, but an accurate singing voice with a pleasant tone, a good musical ear and basic score-reading skills are more important.  This term we are working on J S Bach's "Magnificat in D" and Rossini's "Stabat Mater" and following the term's rehearsals our Spring concert will be at 7.30 pm on Saturday 1 April at St Mildred's Church, Bingham Road.

We also hold regular "Come and Sing" days for members and non-members, and our next one is Saturday 25 February at St Matthew's Church, when we will be learning and performing Dvorak's "Mass in D". These days are always very popular, with a great atmosphere and lots of cake! Registration is via our website.

This is also an exciting year for us as we have been paired with Mark Boden as part of Making Music's "Adopt a Composer" scheme. We will be working closely with Mark on the creation of a new piece composed by him especially for us, which will have its premier performance on 1 July 2017 at Croydon Minster. The performance will be recorded and broadcast by BBC Radio 3.

We are a very friendly choir and our MD Tim Horton and accompanist William Munks are inspiring and great fun to work with!  Have we persuaded you yet??
