50th Anniversary Concert

Croydon Symphonic Band

This is the first of two concerts at Fairfield in 2023 celebrating the Band's Golden Jubilee.

Founded in 1973, the Band is a community ensemble of around 50 musicians who meet weekly to rehearse music from a wide repertoire. Over the years we have trailblazed the performance of original works for symphonic and concert bands and we also like to play lighthearted selections from musicals and shows as well as jazz, big band and classical arrangements. The Band has also achieved Gold awards at the National Concert Band Festival.

The programme for this concert has, by and large, been chosen by the Band's members and highlights the essence of who we are and what we enjoy playing. We are very fortunate to be joined by the incredibly talented harpist, Heather Brooks and, together with our esteemed musical director, David Cox, we are sure to present to you an evening of memorable music making!
