Crumpsall Concert Band

The Crumpsall Concert Band is a community wind band based in North Manchester. Formed in 1993, originally as a dual marching / concert band, we are now embarking on our 30th season.

The band’s primary aim is to fulfill the needs of local instrumentalists, mainly brass and reeds, by enabling them to play together. Some of our players are late comers to music having first taken up the hobby in adulthood, while others have rediscovered their love of playing after many years of absence from this most social of hobbies.

Regardless of ability and experience, all players are encouraged to enjoy music making and achieve their maximum potential.

We concentrate on serving the local community with a calendar of concert performances, playing at garden fêtes, churches and many of North Manchester’s parks. We also collaborate with amateur dramatic and theatre group productions. If space permits, we are happy to consider private functions.

New members are always welcome – please get in touch via our Contact page and come along to a rehearsal. If you are an ex-member looking to return to playing, please get in touch.

As a community wind band we do not set a minimum grade or standard or hold formal auditions for new members. However, it may help you to know that the pieces in the Band's repertoire are around grade 3 to 5.

Crumpsall Concert Band is self-supporting and the conductors are all volunteers. We cover the hire of the band room by charging members a small subscription for each rehearsal.
