Joint event between The Dalgarno Singers and Lockerbie Music Society

A Choral Concert with a Jazzy twist!

The Dalgarno Singers – a choral group of 50 years standing – are based in the Thornhill and are proud to have a strong Community history. The Choir now rehearse in the recently refurbished Old School Thornhill.

We are so pleased that they will perform the programme titled “ A Little Jazz”, lead by Music Director, Rory Robson and accompanied by pianist, Hilary Craig in Lockerbie Town Hall

This programme presents a feel good and varied selection of pieces, from Scots song to American traditional, show tunes, modern classical and much more. The central piece is “A Little Jazz Mass” by former Kings’ Singer, Bob Chilcott. This is a micro mass written with all the rhythm and surprise of the Jazz idiom and has been a choir favourite throughout rehearsal.

The whole programme is a great mix, with something in there for everyone. Choir master Rory Robson and the Choir are delighted to be able to perform this programme for you in Lockerbie. We do hope that you will be similarly enthused!
