Come and Sing Stainer's Crucifixion
East Grinstead Choral Society
This Victorian composer’s oratorio, of which God so Loved the World is the centrepiece, is based largely on a synthesis of the gospel accounts of the Passion, interspersed by chorales and hymns. This oratorio has single-handedly kept Stainer’s legacy flourishing today, with its dramatic, meditative and memorable choruses endearing it to many churches’ celebrations of Holy Week.
Join East Grinstead Choral Society for a relaxed and friendly afternoon visiting this well-loved work. There will be vocal coaching. The afternoon will conclude with a performance in St. Swithun’s Church at 6pm.
