Concert - Finchley Symphony Orchestra
Finchley Symphony Orchestra
Our March concert features Beethoven’s ever-popular violin concerto with Maria Włoszczowska, a First Prize winner of the Michail Elsky International Violin Competition who has performed across Europe. Maria studied with Maxim Vengerov, with whom she has also performed and recorded. The programme includes two less familiar pieces. Mendelssohn’s energetic overture ‘Ruy Blas’ is inspired by Victor Hugo’s play. Dvorak’s 6th symphony is filled with the composer’s typical melodic invention and slavonic rhythms and deserves to be better known. The concert is conducted by David Lardi.
