Serenades and Symphony for Spring

Finchley Symphony Orchestra

Our next concert teams Beethoven with Dvorak in a programme of spirited music ideal for a spring evening.

‘Egmont’ will give our evening a fine dramatic opening, but this is not a portentous programme.  The two Dvorak Serenades each combine typical high-spirited Slavic dance rhythms with contrasted movements of dreamy relaxation.  Beethoven’s first symphony is a cheerful and energetic work which bridges the worlds of Mozart and of the fully mature Beethoven’s later works.

The  concert is conducted by David Lardi.
