Faure: Requiem and Vaughan Williams: Dona Nobis Pacem

Harpenden Choral Society is delighted to be performing two powerful and inspiring works. Fauré‘s Requiem has remained hugely popular because of its simple message of faith and the beauty of its melodies. Vaughan William’s Dona Nobis Pacem is a work which is at times anguished, at others serene, but which is ultimately a plea for peace.  

The concert will be conducted by the choir’s Musical Director, John Andrews, and will feature professional soloists Soprano Alison Langer, Baritone Edward Grint and will be accompanied by The King’s Sinfonietta Orchestra with pianist and organist Richard Gowers.
