Join David Temple and Hertfordshire Chorus in an Open Rehearsal of Elgar’s The Kingdom
Hertfordshire Chorus
One of Elgar’s finest works, The Kingdom mixes gentle conversational sections with astonishingly dramatic choral passages. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience singing with us when we rehearse this wonderful piece of music.
Reviewing our 2010 St Albans Cathedral performance of this work in The Elgar Society Journal, Martin Bird wrote that ‘Put simply, it was the finest performance of The Kingdom that I have ever heard, or can ever hope to hear…’
We are always looking for good singers of all ages and backgrounds, especially altos, tenors, and basses. Subject to passing a singer-friendly audition you could be singing The Kingdom with us in the Royal Festival Hall in January 2026.
