Brahms’  4th and last symphony is immensely popular:  powerful, at times astonishing, troubling and despairing. 

Schumann’s Missa Sacra is a beautiful composition, written a few years before his death at the age of 46, and sadly he did not live to hear it performed it its entirety.  It is, however, almost unknown and rarely performed.  This moving work deserves to be heard, appreciated, and enjoyed so much more widely.
