Our season closes with an enthralling evening of musical discoveries that brings together three contrasting works depicting the passing of time. Jonathan Dove’s beguiling cycle The Passing of the Year charts a journey from spring to winter, whilst the delightfully nostalgic The Turning Year by Cecil Armstrong Gibbs, a student of Vaughan Williams, begins in summer and ends in spring. Selections from Tchaikovsky’s Seasons for piano complete a richly varied programme.
