Experience an evening of enchanting choral music inspired by Shakespeare, dreams and magical summer nights! Acclaimed female vocal ensemble La Nova Singers will perform songs by Debussy, Fauré, Mendelssohn and Purcell; accompanied by musicians from The Parry Ensemble, and by well-known Dorset pianist Sam Hanson. Hear the choir renowned for their "clarity and power" in their first full-length concert in the stunning acoustic of Christchurch Priory. The evening is set to feature Purcell's 'Come Ye Sons of Art' in its entirety, as well as songs commemorating Shakespeare in his 400th anniversary year. Also, the choir are proud to present the première performance of a brand new piece by emerging composer Ed Scolding, created as part of Making Music's 2016 'Adopt a Composer' project. This is music to stir the imagination! Adopt a Composer is run by Making Music in partnership with Sound and Music, in association with BBC Radio 3, and funded by PRS for Music Foundation and the Philip and Dorothy Green Music Trust.
