Leicester Bach Choir Spring Concert
Leicester Bach Choir
Experience a Saturday evening concert of luscious twentieth and twenty-first century music performed in the Italianate splendour of St James the Greater. It was curated by Music Director and conductor Richard Laing (“Breathtakingly expert conductor”, “faultless authority” and “dynamic direction… the Orchestra da Camera has never sounded better”) and is performed by the Leicester Bach Choir ("The choir once again presented an evening of moving and inspiring music in the magical setting of St James the Greater"). Organist Ivan Linford (who has given recitals in all the major English cathedrals) performs Vierne's Hymn to the sun, a theme also addressed in the choral piece by contemporary French composer Lily Boulanger. The primary accompanist is pianist Anita D'Attellis (“I was immediately struck by a unique sensitivity in her playing – just sublime!” and “Mesmerising and always elegantly controlled. Perfect.”).
