A Ceremony of Carols

Petros Singers

Join us for a candlelit celebration of musical settings of the most evocative Christmas texts from medieval literature, including Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols. As well as the more traditional audience carols and other favourites, the programme includes pieces by Rutter, Howells, Walton and Leighton. Bring your friends and family along for mulled wine and mine pies, join in the audience carols and get the festive season off to a great start.

Petros Singers is a well-regarded auditioned chamber choir with a reputation for high-quality singing and innovative programmes. They perform a wide-ranging and diverse repertoire, and collaborate with top-class orchestras and soloists in West and Central London and occasionally further afield.

Richard Bannan is a baritone, conductor and arranger. He sings with many of the country's leading vocal ensembles, including the Choir of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle where he is a lay-clerk.

Tanya Houghton studied harp in Cambridge, London and Paris before embarking on a freelance career. She enjoys playing for a wide range of ensembles from symphony orchestras to chamber groups, and accompanying soloists and choirs.

Andrew Wells has been a rehearsal pianist for many choirs including the BBC Singers and Symphony Chorus, and with Petros Singers since 1987. He is the organist of St George’s, Campden Hill and also works as a composer and editor.
