A Festival of Christmas

Petros Singers

Following our 2018 Christmas concert, which focused specifically on Christmas Day, this performance will celebrate the traditions and rituals that have developed around the festive season. We will deck the halls, quaff wassail, hang holly and ivy, roast chestnuts and count every lord, lady, partridge and pear tree.

Alongside our traditional audience carols, the programme features music by Holst, Betty Roe and Bob Chilcott. We promise a winter wonderland full of gifts, decorations, feasting and drinking. Bring your friends and family to join us for mulled wine and mince pies and get the festive season off to a great start.

Petros Singers is a well-regarded, auditioned chamber choir with a reputation for high-quality singing and innovative programmes. We perform a wide-ranging and diverse repertoire and collaborate with top-class orchestras and soloists in West and Central London.

Richard Bannan – musical director – is a baritone, conductor and teacher. Richard sings with many of the country's leading vocal ensembles, including the Choir of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, where he is a lay clerk.

Andrew Wells – organ and piano – has been the accompanist for Petros Singers since 1987. He graduated from the London College of Music and also studied at Trinity College London. He plays for several choirs and has frequently been rehearsal pianist for the BBC Singers and Symphony Chorus.
