Petros Singers: An Auld Alliance

Petros Singers

The rich choral heritage of Scotland and France, both schools austere in melodic textures but lavish in harmonic invention, is showcased through the familiar composer Duruflé alongside much-neglected works by Leighton. St Barnabas Church, with its wonderful organ, provides a fitting setting for this celebration of An Auld Alliance. The programme will include Duruflé Requiem and Leighton Crucifixus Pro Nobis, as well as some shorter works.

Do come and hear this wonderful concert and also give a great welcome to our new musical director, Richard Bannan, who joined us in January. Richard is a conductor, arranger and baritone singing with many of the country's leading vocal ensembles, including the Choir of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle where he is a lay-clerk. We will also be joined by the renowned English Tenor Simon Wall and our accompanist will be Matthew Jorysz who is Assistant Organist at Westminster Abbey.

More details about the concert can be found on our website www.petrossingers.org where you can also view the flyer. There are a number of ways to get tickets: they can be purchased in advance from www.wegottickets.com/petrossingers (a booking fee applies); reserved for payment at the door via the contact page on our website; or purchased at the door.
