Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra @ Evington Park
Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra
Phoenix Saxophone Orchestra will be performing in Evington Park, Leicester, on the oval in front of the stylish Georigan mansion, Evington House, that sits at the heart of the park.
Phoenix is a large sax ensemble, with 15-18 members playing seven different types of saxophone, from the tiny sopranino through the more commonly seen soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, to the enormous bass and contrabass sax.
The orchestra will be playing a range of easy listening music, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon, from folk songs and light classical to jazz, swing and pop tunes. You'll also be able to hear the group's rendition of Julius Fučík’s ‘Entry of the Gladiators’, shortlisted last year for a Royal Philharmonic Society Inspiration Award, which is famous the world over as the best known piece of circus music.
If you'd like to see and hear us play in this beautiful setting, we would love to see you! Entrance is free.
