Just when you thought the celebrating was all over, we at Prestbury Choral Society are inviting you to come and help us celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with glorious music! Our concert will open with Parry’s ‘I was Glad,’ a dramatic work with an underlying message of peace from Psalm 122. This magnificent piece of imperial splendour is perfect for the grand occasion of this momentous Jubilee. Other music includes Ronald Binge’s tuneful ‘Elizabethan Serenade,’ played at the Queen’s last Jubilee in 2012. The universally popular ‘Gloria’ by Vivaldi, with its distinctive rhythms, harmonies and melodies, builds to a glorious spirited fugue to bring this wonderful celebratory evening to a close.
