What a programme! William Walton's March "Orb & Sceptre", written for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, followed by Britten's "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra" (with Nevin Ward as narrator). After the interval, the wonderfully evocative "Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis" for strings, by Vaughan Williams and then Elgar's magnificent "Enigma Variations".

Tickets, priced at £20 for adults and FREE for under 18's, can be bought through the orchestra website (www.st-cecilia.org.uk), from the Little Ripon Bookshop and Henry Roberts, or reserved by phone on 01423 531062. Tickets will also be available on the door.
