RBCS Choir Summer Concert

Rotherhithe and Bermondsey Choral Society

RBCS is the community choir in Rotherhithe & Bermondsey, where local people come together to sing. In July, we present our summer concert, including Bob Chilcott's The Making of the Drum and songs in celebration of Ada Salter. Ada came to live in the area around 1900 and she and her husband were deeply involved in improving the lives of local people. At the time, people were porr and lives where hard and short. As Mayor of Bermondsey and then as a London County Council member, Ada insisted on building better housing for the poor and beautifying our streets with trees and planting, a legacy still much enjoyed today.

All are welcome at our concert, which is free to attend, cash donations welcome.
